Chester Exec Club Hosts Inspirational Evening with Andy Grant

Guest speaker Andy Grant. A former Royal Marine and amputee, shared his extraordinary journey of overcoming adversity. His story, though deeply personal, carried a universal message: while life will always present challenges, it is our response to them that defines us.
“Resilience isn’t just built in bootcamps or boardrooms,” Grant told the audience. “It’s built in everyday actions.” He urged attendees to focus on what can be controlled, rather than dwelling on the uncontrollable. “It’s not about the 10% you can’t influence. It’s about the 90% that you can.”
The evening highlighted the importance of showing up, taking ownership, and leading by example reminders that resonated strongly across the diverse audience of business leaders and professionals.
The event was made possible thanks to the support of Chester Racecourse, alongside partners Brabners, KPMG, and HSBC.
As the Chester Exec Club continues to bring together leaders from across the region, last night’s message was clear: resilience is a collective effort, built not only in times of crisis, but in the small, consistent actions of everyday life.
