Management Accountant

Leyland (Hybrid)

£40,000 - £45,000

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join an exciting division in a leading UK wide business that is hugely successful within their industry. You'll be reporting to the Finance Manager and playing a key role in financial reporting, planning, and analysis. Your work will ensure accurate management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to guide and support direct reports while managing month-end reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Producing high-quality analysis for monthly results, forecasts, and budgets, including variance bridges.
  • Preparing detailed management accounts with insightful commentary for senior leadership.
  • Partnering with finance, commercial, and operational teams to resolve discrepancies and communicate financial concepts to non-finance colleagues.
  • Driving profit improvement plans with operational and commercial managers to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Providing sites with key financial insights to help manage labour costs effectively.
  • Tracking and visualising contract performance metrics using dashboards and data analysis.
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring variances are understood and addressed.
  • Maintaining data integrity across offline databases and SAP, ensuring validation and cost-revenue alignment.
  • Coordinating with external auditors to meet statutory audit requirements on time, with no material adjustments.

What Their Looking For:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, SUMIFs) and SAP.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Experience in forecasting and stakeholder management.
  • Proactive approach with problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly.
