Job Title: Finance Business Partner (6-Month Contract)
Location: Bootle (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join an organisation based in Bootle for a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong finance background to play a pivotal role in driving financial clarity and strategic decision-making within the technology and transformation functions of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Co-Pilot: Act as an embedded finance partner working closely with senior technology leaders rather than just observing from a central FP&A standpoint.
Financial Translation: Convert complex technology, cyber, data, and operational technology (OT) activities into clear, board-level financial insights and recommendations.
Stabilising Financial Baseline: Assist in stabilising the financial baseline and operating system for Technology Finance, focusing on the balance between running operations, managing change, addressing tech debt, and delivering critical programs in preparation for FY27 and beyond.
Executive Support: Provide financial expertise to support the preparation of executive and board papers, including credible financial data, options analysis, and trade-off assessments.
Challenge & Improve: Contribute a fresh perspective by constructively challenging existing practices, driving pace, and ensuring that the finance function and wider business are stronger after your 6-month tenure.
Core Experience & Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):
Proven Experience: Demonstrable interim Finance Business Partner experience (not a first-time contractor).
Technology & Transformation: Experience supporting CIOs, CTIOs, CDOs, or Transformation Directors in large, complex organisations.
Asset-Heavy Environments: Background in industries such as ports, logistics, infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing, energy, or transport.
Data Agility: Comfortable navigating imperfect data environments, quickly creating clarity and actionable insights.
Critical Skills & Capabilities:
Capex vs Opex Modelling: Expertise in modelling capital expenditure vs operating expenses.
Value Realisation: Experience in tracking benefits realisation and measuring value delivery.
Commercial Mindset: Strong commercial and investment mindset, with a focus on business cases (IRR, NPV, payback, scenario modelling).
