Assistant Management Accountant

Liverpool | Full-time | Study Support Provided

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team within a well-established group of companies. This position is ideal for someone who has already gained 1-2 years' experience in a finance or office environment and is now ready to take the next step towards becoming a qualified management accountant.

This role offers full support towards CIMA or ACCA, making it a perfect opportunity for those who have graduated with a 1st class or 2:1 degree in Accounting & Finance (or similar discipline) and want to build a long-term career in management accounting.

The Role

As part of a collaborative team of four, you will work closely with both the central finance function and on-site finance teams across the wider group. Your main responsibilities will include supporting monthly management accounts production and ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the month-end cycle.

You will be involved in:

  • Preparing monthly accounts within a 7-working-day turnaround
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate business positioning
  • Assisting with audit and tax processes, including preparing supporting documentation and tax pack information
  • Liaising with various internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial processes

This is a hands-on developmental role with clear progression pathways. Previous postholders have advanced into more senior positions within the group once qualified.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Degree-educated with a 1st or 2:1 in Accounting & Finance (or related discipline)
  • Experienced in a finance or office-based environment (around 1-2 years)
  • Eager to pursue ACCA or CIMA, with strong academic ability
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working to monthly deadlines
  • An analytical thinker with good attention to detail and a willingness to learn

Benefits

  • Fully funded CIMA or ACCA studies
  • Kaplan OnDemand study support
  • Clear progression opportunities post-qualification
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Flexible start/finish times with a 3pm Friday finish

* * Supportive, collaborative team culture
