Now seeking a Director of Finance to join the Leadership Team - a strategic, values-led leader who will help shape the organisation's financial future and ensure resources are used to deliver maximum social impact.
The Role
As Finance Director you'll play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, resilience, and sustainability. You'll lead the Finance and Procurement Teams, ensuring robust financial planning, insightful reporting, and the effective use of resources across the business.
You will advise the Executive Management Team and the Board, providing trusted insight, assurance, and guidance to support informed decision-making and long-term growth. From developing the 30-year business plan, to overseeing treasury and procurement strategies, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop the Finance and Procurement Teams, embedding organisational values and culture.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the Executive Team and Board, shaping and delivering business and financial strategies.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to ensure the organisation remains resilient, compliant, and forward-looking.
- Manage treasury strategy, ensuring effective liquidity, debt, and investment management.
- Develop a strategic procurement framework to ensure best value, compliance, and social value.
- Safeguard the organisation's assets and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Provide clear and transparent financial performance reporting and insight.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and governance requirements.
- Act as a key ambassador, building strong relationships with external stakeholders including funders, regulators, auditors and partners.
About You
You'll be an experienced and qualified finance leader, with a strong record of achievement in senior roles - ideally within social housing or a similarly regulated environment.
You'll bring:
- A professional qualification (CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) and degree-level education (or equivalent senior-level experience).
- Experience leading high-performing teams and driving organisational change.
- Proven success in strategic financial management, including long-term business planning, budgeting, and treasury management.
- The ability to influence at all levels, from Board members to external partners.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
