Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading UK retail organisation who are seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to join the team on a 12-15 month fixed-term maternity cover.


Based in Liverpool Head Office, you will work a hybrid model, with 2 days required on site.
This opportunity is ideal for an immediately available technically strong accountant, looking for a fixed-term role with a chance to work across group consolidation, statutory reporting, and technical accounting projects.


Salary/benefits:

  • £55,000 - £60,000 per annum (DOE)

Job Duties:

  • Produce consolidated statutory accounts for the Group on a quarterly and annual basis, alongside subsidiary and dormant company accounts.
  • Prepare consolidation schedules, including adjustments and reconciliations to monthly reporting.
  • Draft accounting papers covering key judgements, estimates, and new technical accounting standards.
  • Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and support junior team members' work, including journal postings and IFRS 16 entries.
  • Support the year-end audit process and act as a key point of contact for technical matters.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve consolidation and reporting processes.
  • Support ad hoc technical accounting projects across the finance function.

When will interviews be taking place?

  • Interviews will be happening as soon as possible


Ideal experience:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified accountant (or equivalent) with 3+ PQE
  • Strong IFRS technical knowledge, including experience with group consolidations
  • Experience producing statutory accounts and supporting year-end audit processes
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to work with large data sets and system exports
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels of the business
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and a desire to deliver high-quality work
  • Organised approach with ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with external advisers where needed
