Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a dynamic, high-growth business based in Chester who are seeking to appoint an experienced Group Financial Controller to join their Finance team on a temporary basis.
This role is initially offered as a 3-6 month contract with strong potential to become permanent. It is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior leadership position within a listed environment, supporting group reporting, controls, tax, and treasury, while managing and developing a high-performing finance team.

Job Duties:
Deliver accurate and timely external financial statements, investor presentations, subsidiary accounts, and monthly management accounts.
Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors.
Design and maintain a robust internal control framework in line with governance requirements.
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, driving automation and process improvement.
Manage tax compliance, including VAT returns and corporation tax, working with external advisers.
Lead treasury operations including cashflow forecasting and funding oversight.
Coach and develop a small team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Provide insightful analysis and forward-looking commentary to senior stakeholders.
Support strategic projects, transactions, and scenario planning as required.

When will interviews be taking place?
Interviews will be happening as soon as possible.
Ideal experience:
Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).
Strong experience in group reporting and consolidation, ideally within a listed environment.
Excellent technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, Corporation Tax and VAT.
Proven track record of managing and developing teams.
Experience in audit, compliance and controls.
Commercially aware with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
Proactive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and driving change.
