About the Role
We're looking for a detail-driven and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join a fast paced Finance Team. Working across a contract spanning 63 sites and valued at around £175m, you'll play a key role in producing and reporting on management accounts. You'll work closely with colleagues to ensure the robustness of P&L data, support ongoing projects, and contribute to the smooth running of our finance operations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Act as a main point of contact for contract-based teams, resolving financial queries promptly and professionally.
Prepare, refine, and interpret management reports-identifying trends, drawing insights, and flagging areas for improvement.
Support commercial management by producing and organising data using advanced Excel tools (pivot tables, lookups, SUMIFS, etc.).
Build strong relationships with both functional and site-based teams, ensuring accurate and consistent data integrity.
Safeguard the accuracy of financial transactions in SAP, producing high-quality outputs for operational managers.
Assist with monthly management account production, including site-level profit and loss reports.
Prepare and post month-end journals (WIP, revenue, provisions, accruals, prepayments) and ensure costs are effectively controlled.
Resolve anomalies in collaboration with finance, commercial, and operations colleagues-translating financial concepts for non-finance staff.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and maintain clear audit trails.
Raise and issue client invoices, manage cash receipts, and keep senior management and treasury updated.
