Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing, Chester based retail organisation as they look to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their head office finance team,

Based in Chester, you will work a hybrid model.

This opportunity is ideal for an immediately available technical Accountant, looking for a role with options for a temp-to-perm contract.

Salary/benefits:

  • £25,500pa FTE
  • Part Time - 3 days per week

Job Duties:

  • Review transactions and ensure the company processes have been completed, ensuring they are actioned in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Manage the monthly credit card process including the reconciliation and ensuring the company process has been followed
  • Manage day to day queries including managing the day to day third party relationship and review of credit limits
  • Prepare and enter monthly journals and post to the finance system.
  • Reconcile credit card balances to the finance system
  • Reconcile any discrepancies and errors identified by communicating with internal stakeholders, ensuring a satisfactory resolution
  • Work alongside the Senior Management Accountant in all aspects of the finance function to support accurate and prompt preparation of financial reports
  • Be a key point of contact for all credit card queries, resolving where possible and escalating if required
  • Support in the development of finance processes, controls and procedures, to ensure that the finance function runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
  • Work with other departments and teams within the company to the benefit of the wider business

Ideal experience

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Experience working within a Finance department desirable
  • Knowledge of accounting software e.g Microsoft Dynamics,
  • Strong numerical skills
  • A willingness to adopt a "hands on" flexible approach to all aspects of the role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and a sense of personal accountability, take pride in the work produced
  • Positive, enthusiastic and helpful with a strong team ethos
  • Proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel.
