You'll manage your own varied portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders and partnerships through to limited companies, while playing an important role in supporting and developing the wider team.

This is a great opportunity for someone already working within accountancy practice who enjoys the client-facing side of the role and wants autonomy, variety and genuine scope to progress.

Client Manager Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing monthly workloads in line with client year ends and internal deadlines.
  • Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts and presenting these to clients.
  • Completing Personal Tax Returns alongside the preparation of client accounts.
  • Responding to client queries and ensuring agreed deadlines and commitments are met.
  • Supervising and supporting junior members of the team to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and value to clients.
  • Working closely with the wider team to maintain a high standard of client service.

Client Manager Attributes:

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential.
  • Experience managing or taking significant responsibility for a portfolio of clients.
  • Strong year-end accounts preparation and review experience.
  • Comfortable dealing directly with business owners and presenting accounts to clients.
  • Personal Tax Return experience would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior team members.
  • Knowledge of CCH software would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive, self-motivated approach.
  • Confident Excel and general IT skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.

Client Manager Benefits:

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
  • Flexible working.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Company pension.
  • Supportive and friendly working environment.
  • Healthy approach to work-life balance.
  • Genuine opportunities for continued career development and progression.
  • The opportunity to join an ambitious, expanding practice that is continually investing in and improving the business.

This would suit an experienced Senior Accountant, Client Manager or Portfolio Manager looking for more ownership of their clients and the opportunity to progress within a growing Chorley-based practice.
