Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, international organisation who are seeking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to join the finance team on a 15-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

Based in Liverpool, you will work a hybrid model with 2 days per week in the office.

Job Duties:

• Lead the end-to-end month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage the preparation and review of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
• Deliver insightful variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year performance.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
• Act as the key contact for external auditors and coordinate the year-end audit process.
• Drive continuous improvements across financial reporting processes and controls.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, including system enhancements and process improvement projects.
• Collaborate closely with Finance Business Partners and wider business stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial information.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of qualified and part-qualified finance professionals.
• Support consolidated reporting across multiple entities and business units.

Ideal Experience:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant.
• Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Reporting Manager position.
• Proven experience leading month-end close within a complex or multi-entity environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Extensive balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems and finance transformation projects.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to process improvement and continuous development.
