Hybrid Working

We are seeking a qualified Tax Accountant to join a growing international business. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional with a comprehensive background in corporate tax, indirect tax, statutory accounting, and tax reporting.

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring the Group remains compliant across multiple jurisdictions while supporting tax planning, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Group's direct and indirect tax compliance obligations across multiple entities and territories.
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations, tax provisions, returns, filings, and disclosures.
  • Take ownership of quarterly and annual tax reporting, including current and deferred tax calculations under IFRS.
  • Manage VAT compliance, reviews, reconciliations, returns, and associated controls.
  • Support international tax compliance activities, including withholding tax, transfer pricing requirements, and overseas tax filings.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of statutory accounts, ensuring tax disclosures are accurate and compliant.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities, providing proactive advice to finance and operational stakeholders.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of R&D tax relief claims and other available tax incentives.
  • Support tax audits, enquiries, and reviews from HMRC and international tax authorities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external tax advisers and auditors.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the Group, ensuring timely implementation of any required actions.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives, restructures, acquisitions, and other corporate projects.
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations relating to tax accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and enhance tax processes, controls, and documentation to support a strong governance framework.
  • Manage and develop a small team, providing guidance, coaching, and technical support.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Ideally 3+ years PQE within practice or industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax, VAT, and tax accounting.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing tax computations, tax provisions, and deferred tax calculations.
  • Good understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with external auditors, HMRC, and professional advisers.
  • Exposure to international tax matters, transfer pricing, or multi-jurisdictional compliance would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and implement practical solutions.
  • Previous supervisory or team management experience is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to become a key member of the Group Finance function, taking ownership of a broad tax portfolio within a dynamic international environment. You will have significant exposure to senior stakeholders, the opportunity to influence tax strategy and governance, and the chance to contribute to the continued growth and success of the business.
