A fast-growing accountancy and advisory firm with offices in Manchester are looking to appoint an experienced Tax Manager to further develop and support their growing team, paying £57,000 - £67,000 DOE.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional looking to step into a varied, advisory-led role with exposure to a broad client portfolio, while working within a collaborative and progressive environment. You'll work closely with senior leadership, supporting entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses across a range of tax matters.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied portfolio of larger and more complex tax clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory support
  • Providing tax planning advice to business owners across areas such as acquisitions and disposals, business restructuring, remuneration planning, inheritance tax and estate planning
  • Supporting clients with corporation tax, personal tax, capital gains tax and wider tax matters
  • Handling HMRC enquiries and investigations, including technical research, financial analysis and report writing
  • Acting as a technical point of contact for both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing junior members of the tax team
  • Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value through proactive advice

Your Attributes

  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience gained within an accountancy practice tax environment
  • Solid experience advising owner-managed businesses (OMBs) on a range of tax matters
  • Comfortable working across both compliance and advisory projects
  • Strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Proactive, commercially minded and keen to progress within a growing firm
  • Exposure to VAT advisory work would be advantageous, but not essential
