Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a large, UK-based organisation who are seeking to appoint a Senior Commercial Finance Manager on an initial 6 month contract.
Working with the largest division in the group this role will play a critical part in ensuring working capital is optimally deployed across the business, particularly in relation to stock holding and rebates receivable.
This opportunity is ideal for an immediately available, commercially focused finance professional with strong business partnering skills and previous line management experience.

6 month contract
Fully remote - candidates can be based anywhere in the UK with travel to numerous sites
Job Duties:
- Monitor and challenge category performance, preparing analysis for weekly trading meetings.
- Compare company performance against market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate category-level forecasts and budgets.
- Validate and track commercial initiatives (e.g. buying benefit) and ensure accurate P&L impact.
- Support commercial negotiations through detailed financial modelling of deal structures.
- Assess and challenge the working capital impact of current and future supplier negotiations.
- Ensure supplier rebates and other commercial income are accurately reflected in the P&L.
- Regularly review rebate debtors to maximise the Group's working capital position.
- Monitor accrual accuracy and challenge the commercial team where issues arise.
- Optimise price deferral income and ensure no monies due remain unclaimed.
- Ensure accurate calculation of rebate element of stock to avoid misstatement.
- Coordinate P&L forecasts and budgets between branch margin and through margin.
- Support Operations to ensure branches hold optimal stock levels.
- Produce and manage stock budgets and forecasts, challenging the business where expectations are not met.
- Deliver insightful inventory reporting including gross stock, rebate element of stock and net stock.
- Identify, implement and monitor initiatives to optimise stock range and quantity across branches.
- Devise and apply accounting policies around stock ageing and minimise aged stock levels.
- Provide ad-hoc finance support to Group Commercial and Group Procurement Directors and their teams.
- Line manage 3 commercial analysts aligned to inventory, commercial income and category management.

Ideal experience
- Recognised finance qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or significant experience (QBE).
- Strong analytical and quantitative background.
- Proven experience in financial modelling, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Demonstrable business partnering experience with senior commercial stakeholders.
- Previous line management experience.
- Advanced user of MS Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence.
